Hazmat classes we can broker
IZY Logistics works with certified carriers across all 9 DOT hazmat classes. Classes 1 and 7 require professional specialized partners — see below for how we handle those.
Class 2 — Gases
Compressed and liquefied gases. Industrial gases, propane, aerosols. Requires placard and hazmat-endorsed driver.
Class 3 — Flammables
Flammable liquids including fuels, solvents, paints, adhesives, and petroleum products.
Class 4 — Flammable Solids
Flammable solids, self-reactive substances, and pyrophoric and water-reactive materials.
Class 5 — Oxidizers
Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides. Includes pool chemicals, hydrogen peroxide, and nitrates.
Class 6.1 — Toxic Substances
Toxic liquids and solids. Pesticides and certain industrial chemicals. Note: Class 6.2 (infectious substances) requires specialized carriers outside standard brokerage.
Class 8 — Corrosives
Acids, bases, batteries, and other corrosive liquids and solids used in industrial processes.
Class 9 — Misc. Hazardous
Lithium batteries, dry ice, magnetized materials, elevated temperature materials.
Class 1 — Explosives
Includes blasting agents, detonators, fireworks, ammunition, and pyrotechnics. Divided into six subclasses (1.1–1.6) based on explosion hazard. Requires specialized licensed carriers with ATF authorization, special routing permits, and security protocols under 49 CFR Part 177.
Class 7 — Radioactive Materials
Includes medical isotopes, industrial radiography sources, nuclear fuel, and low-level waste. Governed by NRC and DOT regulations (49 CFR Parts 171–173). Requires Type A or Type B packaging, radiation monitoring, and NRC-licensed carriers with specific transport plans.
Class 1 and Class 7 shipments cannot be quoted online — they require direct consultation due to federal licensing, routing, and security requirements.
